Private Villa, Tuscany

The ventilated Corten façade, built in the heart of Tuscany, seamlessly blends into the surrounding landscape, harmonizing the region’s natural beauty with the modernity of cutting-edge design. The material, with its characteristic rust tone, evokes the Tuscan soil, while the surface finish, enriched by the patina that forms over time, gives the building an evolving appearance, telling the story of an architecture that merges with nature.

The ventilated façade is not only an aesthetic element but a functional solution that allows the structure to “breathe,” improving the building’s energy efficiency. The ventilation system, which utilizes air circulation between the Corten cladding and the underlying wall, provides excellent thermal protection, reducing the impact of extreme temperatures and enhancing indoor comfort.

The arrangement of the Corten panels, arranged in horizontal or vertical lines, creates an intriguing contrast with the Tuscan landscape, which changes color and shape with the seasons. Each panel has been designed to organically integrate into the context, maintaining the sobriety typical of the local architectural tradition, but with a touch of modernity that is appreciated for its ability to adapt to the passage of time. The Corten façade thus becomes not only a protective element for the building but also a visual feature that celebrates the authenticity and timeless beauty of Tuscany.

For the IRONeX metal cladding in the realization of this project, nestled among the Tuscan hills, Corten steel was used for the exterior ventilated façade, and burnished black sheet metal for the interior walls (Ironex Mode OBSIDIAN collection).

Each sheet is unique because, being crafted by hand, it is one of a kind.
